I opened the window,
Shut my eyes,
Heard a clap of thunder
Which muffled my cries.

My heart was in two.
I wasn't getting any stronger.
I knew what to do-
I couldn't live much longer.

The storm increased
As my pain did, too.
Would I like being deceased?
I wished I knew.

I counted my lies,
My sins,
My cries.
I counted my deeds,
My wants,
My needs.
I thought of my loved ones...
Would they miss me or not?
I raised my gun to my head,
Ready to be shot.

I braced myself
For the pain ahead.
I loathed myself...
I wished I was dead.

Yet, up above,
The sky turned blue.
And down came love...

Down Came You.

My heart had healed
My soul had, too.
My sins were forgiven
All thanks to you.

You're my gift from God,
The reason I'm here.
You picked me up
And dried my tears.

For you are my love
My heart, and my soul.
My gift from above...
